Precautions
Folic acid alone is improper therapy and should not be used in treatment of pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias where B 12 is deficient. Folic acid should be used with care in the presence of peptic ulcer disease, regional enteritis, and ulcerative colitis. In doses above 0.1 mg daily, folic acid may obscure the diagnosis of pernicious anemia.
